Takurō is a childhood friend of Hinagiku's, however when we first see him he is tormenting Momoko for get such a poor score (a 20!) in a test, so Hinagiku beats him up for making Momoko cry. When Momoko sees the expression Hinagiku has when she's talking about him she asks Hinagiku if she has romantic feelings for Takurō, Hinagiku swiftly denies this and says she is into "sporty types" like Yanigiba-senpai not "Gloomy Fale-Faced Weaklings" like Takurō.
Takurō overhears this and blushes, it is then that he is approached by the devil Ignis who offers to make all his hopes and dreams come true, in exchange for lending his body to the fire devil by wearing a special bracelet. The bracelet clasps onto Takurō before the boy can really react and Ignis is able to posess him from then on, this does allow Takurō to become more athletic and popular however Ignis' personality is much, much meaner and more violent than Takurō's (even when in a bad mood Takurō didn't act as vicious) and Hinagiku notices.
When Ignis' minion Chispa attacks Hinagiku and she defeats the devil with her new Saint Tornado Dreams attack he is relived but then Ignis tells him that he plans to have the boy lure all the Love Angels to their deaths and Takurō is horrified, he refuses to do this but Ignis threatens to remove all of Takurō's new sporting abilites and he is snubbed by Hinagiku so he decides to follow orders - he lures Momoko off school grounds and summons Ignis, who attacks her but is stopped by Angels Lily, and Daisy, who had followed them Momoko transforms (Angel Daisy is surprised she would in front of Takurō - who she doesn't relise already knows who they all are) and during the ensuing battle, when Angel Daisy's life is threatened, Takurō takes one of Ignis' blasts for her - he tells her he no longer cares if he get bullied, he'll be happy as long as Hinagiku is alive and then he faints. Angel Daisy cries out begging Aphrodite to help, as does Angel Lily, and Wedding Peach, and with these wishes Wedding Peach is able to transform her Saint Something Old into the Saint Crystal and attacks Ignis, who retreats and the love wave that the three angels emit also ends Ignis' fire seal spell they were all trapped in.
Takurō snaps back to consciousness when Angel Daisy goes to awaken him, later when she and the other transform back into their human forms and Momoko, and Yuri, leave the two of them alone he laments that he feels like scum for risking Hinagiku's life. Hinagiku reminds him that he also saved her life, and he says that in the end he was the one who was rescued, he complains that he dosen't have the appeal of Yanagiba-senpai or Fūma Yōsuke, and that he is only good at studying - Hinagiku stutters, trying to tell him he is wrong, blushing as she peers at him, he blushes too - after a brief silence she gives him a playful punch and tells him to be more of a man and he smiles saying it's just like old times, Hinagiku agrees.
Later Takurō gets called by Ignis who tries to kill him, but the devil has lost his powers and is wounded, Takurō tries to help him and suggests getting the Love Angels to help but Ignis refuses and kills himself. The braclet then breaks apart, and he is free. After the devil Potamos appears and tries to kill the Love Angels but they fight her off Hinagiku turns to him and tells him that she dosen't want Takurō to have anything more to do with the Love Angels because she fears he may come to harm if he dose, in exchange Hinagiku promises she won't lose her life, the life he saved and that she won't cause him anymore grief - he says he understands and that thanks to her his jealousy of the world has now gone, he then tells her that he loves her and that he has since he was little, he then goes home leaving Hinagiku dumbfounded.
Later when the Love Angels are preparing to go to the Devil World for their last battle Hinagiku stops by Takurō's house and confesses her love to him, knowing that she wouldn't say something like that if something serious wasn't about to happen he asks her to make sure that she keeps her promise of not losing her life. She smiles and tells him of course she won't and that he shouldn't worry. He is delighted she is safe when he next sees her and they embrace - only to be interrupted by Hinagiku's father who yells at them for 'fooling around' outside his house so late at night, only to have his wife chastise him for making so much noise.
